HENRY MOZE, LONDON. A MID 18TH CENTURY SCARLET LACQUER CHINOISERIE QUARTER CHIMING BRACKET CLOCK the scarlet chinoiserie bell top case with brass handle, corner finials and pierced sound frets enclosing a 7" brass dial with silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals, day and date apertures and moonphase to the arch within foliate spandrels; fronting an eight day triple fusee movement with seven knopped pillars and foliate engraved backplate with verge escapement, chiming the quarters on six bells and the hours on a larger bell.
46cm high (not including handle)
The case is in very nice, unrestored condition; there are some very minor losses to the gilt-moulded edge on the back door, and some very small chips and cracks to the case. The movement is original to the case and is in working condition, striking and chiming the correct hours and quarters. The moonwork, day and date apertures are all working.
