HENRY EPWORTH ALLEN (1894-1958) AN ENGLISH WATERCOLOUR OIL ON BOARD OF A THATCHED COTTAGE 'A COTTAGE IN GALWAY IRELAND' depicting a village street with a thatched cottage and adjoining buildings at dusk, mounted and glazed in a moulded gilt frame. Harry Epworth Allen British (1894-1958), was a painter especially of Derbyshire. Born in Sheffield, Allen attended King Edward VII School for boys, and then became a clerk in the steel works of Arthur Balfour, in his spaere time attending Sheffield Technicals school of Art.
