JAMES SMITH, LONDON A FINE GEORGE III BURR WALNUT VERGE BRACKET CLOCK WITH PULL-WIND ALARM AND REPEAT the bell top burr walnut case with brass carrying handle and four acorn finials, with pierced gilt-brass sound frets to the sides and corners, on a moulded plinth base enclosing a 7" arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals, matted centre signed James Smith London, date aperture at VI and centre alarm disk, the arch with Strike/Silent dial fronting an eight day double fusee verge movement with exotic bird and foliate engraved backplate striking and repeating on a bell with pull wind alarm.

The case has two very small pieces of veneer missing from the edge of the sound frets on the right side, and the feet are missing; otherwise, it is in very nice condition. The dial is in nice condition with original hands, and the movement is original to the case and in good working condition, striking the hours and also once on the half hour. The alarm train is complete, but the pulley from the backplate is missing. The lock from the back door is also missing. Comes with a winding key.
